The focus for the 37th Annual Meridian-Kessler Home & Garden Tour, "Green by Design," celebrates how our neighborhood was designed with features that are now considered environmentally friendly:
- Walk-ability – Restaurants, retailers and parks are within walking distance
- Green Materials – In modern terms, historic construction materials were often local and organic
- Mature Trees – Tree-lined streets are beautiful, provide shade and reduce pollution
- Resource Preservation – Restoring an existing home is recycling on the grandest scale, using less energy and resources than new construction
